About me
I am a scientist living in Wilmington, NC. I spent much of my childhood growing up on Ocracoke. I was trained to be a Chemical Engineer at North Carolina State University. Since high school and through college, I've used most of my research opportunities to study alternative energy. I have worked in a large coal power plant near Greensboro where i assisted the chemistry team in purifying process water and maintaining the efficiency of their Wet Flue Gas Desulphurization system. Later, I worked with ThermoChem Recovery International at their full scale gasification facility in Durham. We fed many thousands of pounds of wood chips a day into their gasification system, which transformed the available carbon into a useable "Syn Gas". This gas was purified and sent into a special catalyzed reactor to be processed into various hydrocarbon products, from jet fuel to gasoline. I am dedicated to the health and safety of our environment. I hope to be able to make a positive difference in the world.
